Shimotsukenu no Nemaro (下毛野根麻呂)

SHIMOTSUKENU no Nemaro (year of birth and death unknown) was a noble who lived during Nara period. His main name was SHIMOTSUKENU no Ason (second highest of the eight hereditary titles). His home ground was Shimotsuke Province.

On April 24, 774, Nemaro who had been Ge-jugoinoge (Jugoinoge [Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade] given to persons outside Kyoto) at that time was appointed to an assistant governor of Dewa Province by the Empress Shotoku. Also, just after the appointment, on June 11, 774, he was ordered to transfer to an assistant governor of Shimotsuke Province.
